When we celebrate the 4th of July, remember that we are not celebrating the 4th of July we are celebrating Independence Day.
What does the new tax credit extension mean? They have simply extended the time allowed to close on the property so that those who might have had title problems or a delay can still get their tax credit.
If you were in the military in the end of Dec 2008 to the end of May 2010 you can get a tax credit. You must purchase your home by the April 2011 and close by the end of June 2011.

tax credit extension for Oklahoma veterans, contact Karen Heston of BOK Mortgage at 918-230-9432 or

What is going on with the temporary extension on Flood Insurance? There have been 4 extensions on flood insurance. During June you couldn't get anything done on a flood insurance policy. FEMA, which handles flood insurance, is covered and paid for by the government. You can buy flood insurance from many different providers but FEMA handles all of them. We couldn't renew flood insurance policies during June because of the extensions. This affects many people since if a home is flooded and their flood insurance was up for renewal in June. They weren't able to renew their policy during June and would be without insurance.

How do I get rid of webworms? Webworms build webs in trees but are difficult to exterminate because they are hard to get to. They will cause little damage to mature trees but are unsightly. Smaller trees can be damaged however. Moths lay eggs in the debree around the base of the tree and in the bark. They lay eggs, they eggs hatch and they get on the branch and exfoliate the ends of the branch. They then work in and our. Clean out the debris in early spring. Get rid of leaves and mulch. and treat the foliage. Once their webs are spun, we can still spray the trees. We spray the foliage and as they move to the foliage we sprayed, they will die.

Workers Compensation Insurance- Workers Comp is the coverage that employers are supposed to have for their employees. If an employee of ABC Company comes in your home and gets injured but ABC Company doesn't have workers comp insurance, your homeowners insurance will not cover it and that employee can come after you for payment. As a homeowner, if you are having work done, make sure that the employees have workers compensation insurance.
