What is CASA? Court Appointed Special Advocates are volunteers that go through training so that they can go to the court to speak on behalf of the children in the states custody. There are 1500 kids in custody in Oklahoma. They talk to all parties involved, including the child, and speak on behalf of the child. They are not involved in daily care. They come in and talk to teachers, attorneys foster parents, partents, the child, and others to help determine what is best for the child. They understand what is going to happen later in life because of the decisions made today. Classes start this May, visit www.tulsacasa.org for more informaiton or to become a CASA volunteer. Are all insurance companies the same? No. Rates are determined by what is covered in a policy. Getting a cheaper rate is not always good. It may be that they don't have the same coverage as another company with a higher rate. SOme companies will offer a higher deductible for wind and hail, and that will decrease the costs of the policy. Always check your policy to make sure that you are getting the proper coverage and that the deductible is where you want. Some policies will have back up of sewers and drains in your policy. Identity theft can also be part of insurance policies. Policies go deeper than price.
How do independent agencies operate and who writes the policies? We work with insurance such as Travelers and Hartford. We set certain standards about how we sell policies. We partner with companies that we know are going to take care of our clients and that will offer coverage that we feel is important. Always check with your agent to make sure that the coverage is the same as the less expensive policy. Don't wait until you find yourself in a bind.

There is a New Lead Based Paint Law that requires that any company that removes lead based paint be certified. $37, 500 per day could be the fine for companies and even for the realtor who may recommend someone to remove lead based paint.
This is an excellent time to move up in real estate. The tax credit ends on April 30, 2010. Take advantage of the tax credit now. If you sell now and move up. How do I exterminate termites and ants? Many people confuse termites and ants. There are definite differences. Homes are getting flooded with excess moisture and they move into our homes. Most of the work we do at Montgomery Exterminating is termite work. We use the Sentricon Baiting System by Dow Agri-science. We are Sentricon approved in the state of Oklahoma.
